Urgently needed relief supplies to Paraguay
Why Paraguay??? At first it was just an idea. Through my travels to Paraguay I was able to get to know this great country and its people and unfortunately also the need. As I work in the medical field myself, many things affected me and made me think. A lot of things are thrown away here that are desperately needed there. An idea has now become a project close to my heart.
In Paraguay, being a child, a woman, an indigenous person, disabled or old almost automatically means belonging to a disadvantaged population group. Wheelchairs, hearing aids and glasses are a matter of course for us, but for many people in Paraguay they are very often an unattainable luxury. In the so-called "Centros de Salud" in the mostly rural areas, there is perhaps a doctor or nurse once a week. But in the area, even simple items such as disposable syringes and cannulas, bandages or disposable gloves are usually lacking.
Often families with seriously ill children do not have the opportunity to have a professional photo shoot. Organising all of this is often a logistical challenge. We organise it and come to the care facilities or to the home. We bring the equipment, time and good humour. Of course, the service and the pictures are 100% free of charge for the families.
We hope that this project will also be well received and that you will support us in this too.
Further support needed - visiting alpacas in care facilities
The relationship between humans and animals has existed since the beginning of humanity. Across all cultures, animals were not just a source of food or livestock, but also valued companions (eg dogs or cats). Animals have been used in social and therapeutic areas for many years. Especially with children, adults or older people with psychological or behavioral problems, special needs and at the end of life.
In this context, we would like to send specially trained animals such as dogs, alpacas, etc. to hospices, children's homes and care facilities in 2024
